Our experience
I love playing soothing music for my dog, Micah, but never thought to get a speaker just for him. That was until I came across Sound Oasis and their home sound therapy system. Unlike other Bluetooth speakers, the Pet Therapy System comes with a variety of doctor-composed sounds made just for pets.
I’ve been using the speaker consistently for a week, and when I say it’s a game changer, I’m talking night and day difference.
Micah is a high energy boy who loves to play — he’s the kind of puppy that wants my full undivided attention every minute of the day. Since I work from home, he can be restless during work hours and is very good at letting me know when he is bored (he has a routine of taking each toy out of his toy bin for me one by one until he has emptied the entire bin and scattered toys on the floor) .
I have started playing my favorite Sound Oasis music during the day to help him calm down and he is noticeably calmer. Not only that, he sleeps like a rock when I have bedtime music. Although Micah is generally a good sleeper, he often gets up during the night, moving from his bed to my bed on the floor. When he falls asleep to music, he’s turned off like a light and barely moves.
In addition to being very efficient, the device is easy to use. A quick skim through the user manual was all I needed to get a good understanding of how it works. Some of the buttons are multi-functional (the power button doubles as a pause button), but it has an intuitive design, so even if you don’t consider yourself tech-savvy, it’s easy to figure out.
The sound quality is also amazing. I’ve had some speakers (including my phone) where the sound gets muffled as the volume goes up, but that’s not the case with these. Music is clear and the bass is super effective at buffering external noise – definitely not something I expected from such a small device!
I’ve played all 20 soundtracks on the SD card so far and love them all. Each one creates its own soothing ambiance and there are several options, such as heartbeats, that are designed to comfort your pet. A cool thing you can do in the app is overlay a heartbeat or a cat purring over the music and adjust the frequency of the sounds using the equalizer. I’ve tried both features of the app and love having the option to customize the music for Micah.
The speaker is one of those things I didn’t know I needed for Micah. But now that I have it, I use it all the time and look forward to downloading more sounds for it from the Sound Oasis website.

As we tested

And honestly, if you’re in a rush, on the go, or don’t have your own music to stream, the preloaded sounds are great.
I mostly use the device in the house and like to play music for Micah during the day and before bed at night. But if your pup is fussy in the car, the machine is compact, lightweight and easy enough to pack up and take with you on trips.
